Town House Renovation – Alexandria, Virgina

Open Floor Concept – Modern Upgrades

Small town house gets expanded kitchen and modern highlights.  5” Antique Java Distressed Bamboo Floors replaced outdated parquet flooring.  Removing walls in this starter home was a sure way to create an open airy feeling while adding dual options for expanded countertops and breakfast bar seating.  Icy Waterfall on the walls and cream colored cabinets with front to back sight lines to the custom rear cabana was a winner that delivered endless natural sunlight

About The Project

We partnered with the homeowner on this project.  The goal was to open the living space and sell at premium.  It had been rented to tenants for 5yrs and the most recent tenant had 7 cats who never quite regularly made it to the kitty litter box.  Replacing the hardwood floors was an obvious requirement.

The kitchen was a more-than-cozy 35sqft.  We removed the 2 walls that surrounded it and expanded the kitchen into the small dining area to make it an eat-in kitchen with lots of recessed lighting and glimmering pendant lights.  Removing one of the French doors allowed for us to build a custom pantry with cabinetry which surrounded the stainless steel refrigerator and delivered extra space for a 2nd breakfast bar area.

Since this town home offered a spacious backyard, we not only built a deck but we added an enclosed cabana for private year-round entertainment or a private retreat for a serene escape.
